The University of Chicago has just created an admission program called Summer Session Early Notification (SSEN) in which if a student is selected to attend their summer college program, whether in person or virtual, they can then apply to UChicago as early as October 15 and be notified of their decision before November 1. The university is marketing it as the most competitive summer program in the US since it would truly funnel students to apply early to the school but isn't this just a way to increase yield before November 1?
