Although the pandemic situation has drastically improved, in-person standardized test taking is still facing many challenges. Because of Covid, there aren't enough test taking administrators to monitor students during the tests, thus making it difficult for the test taking centers to offer all of the tests on the dates previously assigned. This situation makes it very difficult for students to take the exams two or three times like they used to do pre-Covid. To alleviate the situation, many schools have now decided to extend the test-optional policy, for both ACT and SAT, for at least one more year.
